Lewis was facing rising energy costs, with an annual power bill of approximately $1,750. His existing SMA inverter was more than 10 years old, and he wanted to replace the ageing equipment with a newer, more efficient solar system that would reduce his reliance on the grid and support his home for years to come.
Carson met Lewis at his property to review the existing system, energy use and upgrade options. He then provided several transparent proposals covering removal of the old system and all inclusions, estimated generation from the proposed system, and a seasonal production-versus-consumption curve based on his historical usage and 3D shade modelling, and adjusted to account for the old system's contribution. Each option also outlined the estimated bill reduction, payback period and available payment options, giving Lewis a clear basis for choosing the right long-term solution.

The subcontractor team at Derwent Electrical installed a 10-panel solar system designed by Resi Solar Tasmania, specifically tailored to Lewis's annual power bill, roof dimensions, and north-east and north-west orientations. This system not only reduces Lewis's energy bills but also provides a clean, renewable source of power for his safe haven.
The installation team from Derwent Electrical are highly experienced at installing on concrete tile roofs — after all, this is Tasmania. They updated Lewis on their whereabouts on the morning of his installation and were on time, friendly and proficient. When the weather took a turn for the worse near the end of the day, Carson's Canadian-style hot chocolate with maple syrup kept them in good spirits. Before finishing up and heading on their way, Ben walked Lewis through the GoodWe app for monitoring. We are really grateful to our subcontractor partners. Hip hip hooray!
Designed to make the most of the available roof space, the system helps improve energy efficiency while reducing reliance on traditional power sources. It also gives Lewis greater confidence knowing his home is supported by a reliable, sustainable energy solution for years to come.
